The Perfect Blow Out

The Perfect Blow Out

We all love the feel of a fresh blowout at our favorite hair salon!  HUE Salon is always happy to give our clients the ultimate blow outs, but we also want you to be able to achieve the perfect blow out hair right at home!  Follow the below steps for bouncy, smooth hair:

  • Start It Off Right:
You may think a perfect blow out starts with the dryer – think again!  Humidity and towel drying can play a big role in your end results.  If your bathroom is still humid from the shower, move the hair drying to a different room if possible.  Use a towel to gently rink excess water from hair.  Avoid rubbing your hair or wrapping it in the towel – this can cause frizzy, flat hair.
  • Protect That Mane:
We all know hair drying can cause heat damage – especially to color-treated hair.  Always (always!) be sure to use a heat-protecting spray or cream prior to drying your hair.  HUE Salon offers a fabulous array of products to protect your hair.  Please ask your stylists for some suggestions picking out the right product for your hair type and style.
  • Right Tools For The Job:
A quality hair dryer can make all the difference in your blow out.  Do your research and find out which type of hair dryer is best for your type of hair.
  • Boost Those Roots:
Start off by flipping your head over and blasting your roots with warm air.  Getting the roots off your scalp as quickly as possible helps maximize volume!
  • Fix The ‘licks:
If you have any lumps or unruly spots, now is the time to fix them.  Use your brush to hold the spot flat and directly apply heat for a few seconds.  Afterwards, hit it with a cool blast to help keep it in place.
  • Section It Out:
Place the top 1/5 to 2/3 of your hair in a clip on top of your head.  Working in 2″ sections, tightly wrap your hair around a round brush, keeping the brush wrapped tightly as you brush down the section of your hair.  Keep the nozzle of your dryer pointing down the hair shaft and about 3-4″ away from your hair.  Repeat this step until you have worked through all hair.
